Canterbury DHB Specialist Mental Health Services Emergency / Crisis Contact

24 hour crisis, urgent and emergency assessments for people of all ages experiencing mental health crisis including suicidality.

Depending on people's needs, circumstances and level of crisis, services are provided  to ensure people's safety during a crsisis 24hrs 7 days a week.

 

Single Point of Entry is the in-hours (Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm) point of contact / referral for Emergency / Crisis.assessment and advice for people experiencing mental health crisis including suicidality.

Single Point of Entry will link to Crisis Resolution who will provide the service required. Crisis Resolution is an integral part of Mental Health Community Teams and operates 24 hours 7 days.

Between the hours of 5pm – 8am Monday – Friday and 24 hrs over weekends and public holidays (when Single Point of Entry does not operate), Crisis Resolution can be directly contacted on the same number.

Referrals can be made by any member of the public, i.e. self-referrals, family, friends, GPs or community agencies.
