Greg EwingAbiliquip - Vehicle modifications and lifts for disabled or elderly

Abiliquip manufactures, installs and services mobility products which improve disabled driver mobility, driving comfort and personal independence.

Vehicle Modifications

Within New Zealand, Abiliquip carry out vehicle disability modifications to suit specific people, including hand controls, left foot accelerators, steering adaptations including drive-by-wire (joystick) systems, gear changers or any other mobility adaptations. Other items are:

- spinners, including ones that control electric functions
- bumper mounted walker carriers
- cruise control
- mounted transfer bench for wheelchair users that slides away
- crane lifters for pulliing wheelchairs and scooters into cars or SUVs

Wheelchair

Abiliquip provides a quality configurable wheelchair that is fully adjustable and also has suspension for soft riding on injuries

Electric Boot Openers

Where people find the raising and lowering of the boot lid of their wagon or SUV difficult, Abiliquip can fit an electric boot opener. This is controlled by a wireless remote, allowing the boot to be opened as you approach the vehicle. For people in a wheelchair, on crutches, or a little weak this is a major bonus, as reaching the height of an open boot and lowering it can be a challenge.

Abiliquip represent some specific products for disabled drivers (see their new product announcement in the Company News section), and will fit a variety of devices including Reversing sensors and other devices.

Wheelchair Delivery System

They supply an automatic wheelchair delivery with some unique benefits that are unmatched by any other products, and these are marketed in various world markets. Patents for the unique characteristics have been secured for some countries and are pending in others

These units are by a big margin the most convenient of all wheelchair delivery systems: just flick a switch. Leave your car's external appearance unchanged. They can handle fixed-frame or folding wheelchairs (vehicle must suit), and fit in a wide range of vehicles. They come in LHD and RHD versions.
